Interventions for Extraordinary Maintenance of the Casal de Pazzi Market

The intervention presented concerns the extraordinary maintenance of the Casal de Pazzi Market, located between Viale Kant and Via Locke. The market includes a very large area in which there are boxes for sale, two dining areas and toilets. The interventions included the improvement of the sheath cover of the boxes and the flooring using quality materials in terms of performance, safety and durability: the flooring was made of porcelain stoneware resistant to thermal changes and non-slip; the waterproofing carried out by means of a double layer of elastoplastomeric membrane was placed in the covers and the fronts were restored. It was also carried out the replacement of the lighting poles with higher-performance luminaires with LED lamps.

Project objectives

Modernisation: Give back to operators and citizens a more modern and functional space;
Safety and Comfort: Ensure greater safety and liveability within the structure;
Tradition and Future: Maintain the market as a place of tradition, but projected into the future, as an integral part of the life of the neighborhood.

The main interventions:

Covers and fronts:

Waterproofing of the boxes and restoration of the fronts and perimeter shakes.

Flooring:

Installation of a new floor in resistant and non-slip porcelain stoneware.

Lighting:

Replacement of old lamps with better-performing LED lamps, to increase the safety and livability of the space.

Facility and services:

Restoration of safety conditions and general decorum, improving the state of the roofs and toilets.

Pedestrian Black Point Project: Via Ugo Ojetti / Via Jovine Francesco

The intervention, aimed at improving the road safety of pedestrians, aims at ensuring the safety of 30 dangerous pedestrian crossings, distributed in the 15 Municipalities of Roma Capitale — the so-called pedestrian black points.

Activities will include:

better definition of trajectories, calibration of the crossing area through signage and minimal physical works;
the control and reduction of speeds thanks to new horizontal, vertical and luminous signs;
the light infrastructural reorganisation of the intersection, the re-profiling of roadsides and traffic curbs; the remodulation and safety of spaces, paths and pedestrian crossings; the optimisation of parking spaces and visibility;
optimisation of manoeuvres and traffic light regulation.

In the second quarter of 2025, the first two interventions were completed, located in the following areas of Municipalities I and III:

Via Odoardo Beccari/Via Ambrogio Contarini;
Via Ugo Ojetti/Via Jovine Francesco.
