Project description
The "Pavilion of Olive Trees", located in the "Principe di Piemonte" school complex in the Ostiense area, near the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls, is an element of considerable historical and architectural value. Built between 1940 and 1970, the school complex includes 14 pavilions located within a park of about 4 hectares, characterised by rich vegetation and landscape elements.
The main objective of the intervention is the recovery and restoration of the structure of the school building, currently in a state of degradation and banned due to structural problems. Targeted structural consolidation and extraordinary maintenance are planned in order to return the building to its original functions.
Currently, the structure shows signs of abandonment and deterioration, with structural problems in the foundations and load-bearing wall parts, as well as obsolete and non-compliant systems.
The areas affected by the intervention include the ground floor, the roof tower floor and the external areas adjacent to the building. The specific activities include:
- consolidation of foundations and the restoration of masonry damage;
- adaptation of toilets to accessibility regulations;
- restoration and adaptation of existing systems;
- recovery of external and internal fixtures;
- restoration of the external sidewalks;
- waterproofing of the roof;
- preparation of external spaces.
The intervention, in addition to guaranteeing the structural safety of the building, aims to preserve its historical and architectural value, respecting the needs of monumental protection of the property.
