Project description
The intervention aims to improve the fire and hydraulic safety conditions of the "Principe di Piemonte" school complex, located in the Ostiense area, near the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls. This complex, inaugurated in 1940 and consisting of 14 pavilions, represents an example of a village-school immersed in a park of about 4 hectares.
The main objective is to enhance the fire safety of the pavilions and improve the accessibility of the outdoor areas, as well as the connecting routes. The activities will include a series of interventions, including:
- construction of REI (fire resistance) 30 and REI 120 fire-fighting subdivisions;
- installation of REI doors;
- refurbishment of electrical systems;
- installation of a smoke detection system;
- construction of an emergency lighting system;
- adaptation of internal doors and safety exits;
- painting of the premises;
- refurbishment of the entire water disposal system;
- functional recovery of external areas;
- refurbishment of the sewerage system;
- restoration of damaged parts of the existing rainwater collection network;
- construction of a new fire-fighting water network;
- installation of a pressurisation unit and a tank for the accumulation of fire-fighting water;
- construction of a duct for the power supply of the pressurisation unit and the power lines of the school complex;
- adaptation of the methane gas network;
- restoration of the water network and fountains;
- remaking of part of the external fixtures.
