Archaeological Monumental Site - Via dei Cerchi/Circo Massimo area: redevelopment of Via dei Cerchi building first lot
Implementing party
Project description
Using Jubilee funds, the project includes the creation of a documentation and listening centre for the Carme Project, i.e. the new plans for the archaeological and urban development of Via dei Fori. The documentation centre will have the role of a multifunctional information hub.
The subject of the intervention are the rooms on the ground floor of the building, which are also affected by funding under the NRRP: "CAPUT Mundi", Jubilee Pathways 2025: from pagan Rome to Christian Rome. The building is strategically located between the Capitoline Hill, Circus Maximus, Palatine Hill and open towards the Appian Archaeological Park, and has been the focus of numerous redevelopment projects for the creation of the Museum of Rome, as part of the programme for the valorisation of the area that is part of the Archaeological Monumental Site, as per Article 37 of the N.TA. of the current general zoning plan.
The entire area will also be affected by a lighting upgrade, carried out both by means of the existing street lighting poles, and by LED spot lights that will highlight artefacts and plants in a targeted and punctual manner, as has already been done in the Colosseum area.
