Project description
The project for the preservation and enhancement of the fountain includes a series of specific interventions aimed at preserving and enhancing this important monument. Below are the areas of intervention involved:
- stone surfaces: interventions on the stone surfaces of the fountain will be carried out to restore their original appearance. This will include thorough cleaning, removal of dirt, limescale or harmful deposits, repair or replacement of damaged or missing parts, application of protective treatments to preserve surfaces in the long term;
- interiors of the basins: interventions will be performed to ensure water tightness, involving the overhaul or replacement of waterproofing layers, the reinforcement of underlying screeds and the application of new materials to guarantee the tightness of the basins;
- pavement of the buffer area: the pavement of the buffer area will undergo targeted interventions, such as cleaning, repairing or replacing damaged slabs or cobbles. Protective treatments will also be applied to preserve the integrity of the pavement;
- metal surfaces: specific interventions on the metal surfaces of the fountain include cleaning, removing rust and corrosion, repairing or replacing damaged parts and adding protective coating.
