Project description
The project for the preservation and enhancement of the fountain included a series of specific interventions aimed at preserving and enhancing this important monument. Below are the areas of intervention involved:
- stone surfaces: interventions on the stone surfaces of the fountain were carried out to restore their original appearance. This included thorough cleaning, removal of dirt, limescale or harmful deposits, repair or replacement of damaged or missing parts, application of protective treatments to preserve surfaces in the long term;
- interiors of the basins: interventions were performed to ensure water tightness, involving the overhaul or replacement of waterproofing layers, the reinforcement of underlying screeds and the application of new materials to guarantee the tightness of the basins;
- pavement of the buffer area: the pavement of the buffer area underwent targeted interventions, such as cleaning, repairing or replacing damaged slabs or cobbles. Protective treatments were also applied to preserve the integrity of the pavement;
- metal surfaces: specific interventions on the metal surfaces of the fountain included cleaning, removing rust and corrosion, repairing or replacing damaged parts and adding protective coating.
