Project description
The conservative restoration and enhancement project included a series of interventions aimed at preserving, restoring and enhancing the fountain. Below are the main activities:
- biocidal treatment: a biocidal treatment was performed to eliminate any unwanted biological organisms, such as algae, moss or mould that may cause damage to the fountain. The treatment helped preserve the surfaces and prevented the growth of harmful organisms;

- plastering and colour scheme overhaul: the plasters on the fountain were overhauled, repaired and replaced. An additional colour scheme overhaul was performed to restore the original aesthetic appearance of the fountain;
- overhaul and restoration of metal elements functionality: metal elements, such as brackets, pins or other decorative details, underwent a complete overhaul to assess their functionality and state of preservation;
- aesthetic overhaul: the fountain underwent an aesthetic overhaul to assess its overall appearance and identify any damaged, missing parts or that need specific intervention to improve its aesthetics;
- application of the final protective coating: a final protective coating was applied to the fountain’s surfaces to preserve them from deterioration caused by weather and wear;
- waterproofing restoration of basins: the waterproofing of the fountain basins was restored to ensure water tightness in the basins;
- overhaul of the end section of the water system: the final section of the water system was inspected to verify its functionality and repairs or replacements were carried out where necessary.
