Caput Mundi: Restoration of Piazza del Campidoglio paving and elevations

Project description
The project includes the following activities for the restoration and maintenance of the three Capitoline buildings and Piazza del Campidoglio:
- restoration and maintenance of the façades of the three Capitoline buildings, focusing on the Michelangelo part;
- restoration and maintenance of the paving of Piazza del Campidoglio;
- waterproofing (partial or total) of the roof pitches of the three Capitoline buildings, which converge on the square;
- maintenance and adaptation of the rainwater collection and flow system of the three Capitoline buildings;
- installation of a new system for collecting and distributing rainwater coming from the three buildings and from Piazza del Campidoglio;
- removal of the old electrical network and replacement with a new network for monumental public lighting;
- replacement of old lighting fixtures with new latest generation LED fixtures for the Capitoline buildings;
- structural consolidation of the three Capitoline buildings;
- restoration of the architectural decorations and sculptural elements present on the façades of the three buildings;
- restoration of the original windows and shutters of the three buildings, using traditional materials and modern technical solutions to ensure energy efficiency.
