Anti-Violence Centres Opening: “Angela Merlin” Municipality V
Implementing party
Project description
Last March, two new Anti-Violence Centres were opened in Municipalities V and XIII, dedicated to Angela Merlin and Palmina Martinelli, respectively. To realise these centres, building works were carried out to reorganise spaces, including the creation of rooms for initial reception, individual interviews and services accessible to people with disabilities. In addition, outdoor spaces were improved and electrical, water and thermal systems were adjusted.
Anti-Violence Centres play an essential role in offering psychological and legal counselling, support, training, awareness and prevention to victims of violence. They provide assistance through telephone reception and personal interviews to help women out of violent situations.
The management of the Anti-Violence Centres has been entrusted to specialised third sector organisations, in collaboration with the Capitoline Department for Equal Opportunity, to ensure functional and adequate services.
