The project involves the creation of the new headquarters for the Municipal Police Music Band. For this purpose, part of the building at Via Macedonia 120 will be redeveloped. It will feature the rehearsal room as well as rooms to be used as offices, a dressing room, restrooms and a storage area for musical instruments. The new rooms adjoin some offices and archives of the Municipal Police, which must maintain their functionality and accessibility throughout the construction work. The building, dating back to the early eighties, has never been renovated and features inadequate and outdated finishes and technological systems. The intervention will focus not only on interior rooms but also on the building envelope, particularly degraded in the southern wing, and on the external areas adjacent to the building, which will be readapted to the new functional requirements (such as the manoeuvring of heavy vehicles for transporting musical instruments).

The Rehearsal Room for the Music Band must have the following characteristics: 

•  enough space to accommodate 77 band members 
•  adequate acoustic requirements (soundproofing and sound absorption); 
•  optimal thermal insulation;
•  independent access allowing for the moving of bulky musical instruments both from outside and within; 
• changing rooms and restrooms for Band members;
• storage area for the Band's musical instruments; 
• rooms for the administrative offices of the band, including 7 employees; 
• adequate technological systems 
• autonomous electrical, water, lighting, heating and air conditioning systems with high energy efficiency; 
• service parking suitable for the manoeuvring of heavy vehicles for the transport of bulky musical instruments 

The intervention will involve: 

• the body of the building of the former gymnasium 
•  the adjacent ground floor ancillary rooms on both sides 
• rooms for administrative staff, on the upper floor 
• the portion of the yard adjacent to the body of the building of the former gymnasium

The new rooms for the Band's headquarters and rehearsal room will be completely separate and autonomous from the rest of the building.
