Project description

The interventions, which have already begun, involve the redesigning of the internal spaces of the Emergency Department of the San Giovanni Addolorata Hospital and include extraordinary maintenance, renovation and the purchase of new equipment.

The extraordinary maintenance works concern: 

  • The continuation of the securing of the façades of the San Giovanni Hospital Centre, with particular reference to the front view and the replacement of the windows, as identified by the procedure for the prevention of suicide; 
  • The separation of the paths of patients who need diagnostic tests through the creation of 3 different appropriate reception and waiting paths;
  • The plant upgrading of the High Intensity Area Emergency Department, the redistribution of related spaces and the modernisation of the now obsolete electrical systems. In particular, it is necessary to enhance the MV distribution of the inner ring and the LV distribution with specific reference to the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and related QEBTs. 

New equipment includes:

  • Diagnostic imaging equipment by means of trocostratigraphy, a handheld radioscopy device, ultrasound and similar equipment;
  • Vital support and monitoring technologies for the Resuscitation Centre and intensive care such as new lung ventilators, a new monitoring system, ICU bedside medical PCs, monitors; 
  • Equipment for the surgical unit, including a large repeater monitor for haemodynamics, operating tables, medical PCs dedicated to operating theatres and hardware and software systems for the integration of biomedical technologies.

 Working site considered partially closed and operating at the beginning of the Jubilee Year.
