Towards the autonomy of single-parent families with children
Implementing party
Project description
The project, aimed at single parents with minor children temporarily deprived of resources and significant family contacts, targets on reducing the dependence on residential services and promoting a shorter stay in accommodation facilities. In this regard, personalised social inclusion interventions and paths will be implemented, in order to promote full working and housing autonomy.
Semi-autonomy programs in favour of single-parent families with children will be divided into different levels of care intensity: high, medium and low intensity, evaluated depending on the level of autonomy of the parent and the child.
The intervention plans, lasting 18 months, which may be extended for an additional 6 months, may be adjusted thanks to periodic six-monthly evaluation meetings by the team.
The services and actions defined in the personalized project of the single-parent nucleus can be divided into the following macro areas of action:
1. support for everyday life. Acquire skills in the area of home management and related activities;
2. parenting support. Obtain security and autonomy in the daily management of the care of relationships with the children also through the activation of the solidarity networks of the territory or through access to integrated social-health services;
3.assistance to inclusion towards full autonomy. Training and job orientation activities, facilitating access to autonomous housing solutions, as a step towards emancipation from direct support of the protection of public welfare services and inclusion in the social network of the reference territory;
4. creation of solidarity networks in the reference territory. Identify forms of support for the nucleus in the informal resources of the territory, including through voluntary associations or sympathetic families that can support the nucleus at particular times to experience family life outside the network of social services;
5. facilitate paths of housing autonomy. The locations where the customised projects can be carried out are private dwellings inserted in urban contexts owned or rented by the guest or by the managing body of the semi-autonomy programmes, which are therefore in charge of the project.
