Adaptation and redevelopment of the passenger building of the Roma Aurelia station
Implementing party
Project description
The redevelopment of the Roma Aurelia station is part of the interventions aimed at improving services in railway stations in view of the 2025 Jubilee, with the aim of enhancing the accessibility, safety and decorum of stationary environments. The intervention on the station is closely related to the transformation of the current parking spaces of the buses in front of the station into a bus terminal, with the aim of facilitating the intermodal iron-rubber exchange in view of the jubilee events. An increase in user turnout is expected as a result of this transformation. Therefore, during the jubilee period the following interventions are planned:
- Interventions on the Traveller Building: it is planned to expand the spaces at the service of travellers through the reconversion of the premises currently in disuse into areas intended for parking and waiting for passengers. New toilets will also be built to improve user comfort. In addition, the connection with the station underpass will be restored, in order to ensure easy and safe access for passengers.
