The project includes the redevelopment of the green area of the square and of the gardens along Viale Mazzini, following a safety logic in relation to the philology of the existing plants, with the planting of about 80 new trees (including Quercus ilex and Cupressus sempervires) and about 650 linear metres of new ornamental hedges (of Laurus nobilis and Pittosporum tobira), the arrangement of decorations, paving and flower beds. 

The decorative surfaces, the paving of the fountain and the architectural and artistic elements will be restored thanks to the intervention of the Capitoline Superintendence. 

Specifically, the interventions will include:

Redevelopment of the green space of the square and the viale:

1. Phytostatic surveys;

2. Removal of existing lapilli and geotextile;

3. "AirSpade" - blowing intervention; 

4. Supply of lapilli; 

5. Pruning;

6. New tree plantings, hedges, perennial ground covers and grasses.

Maintenance of paving and street furniture:

1. Supply and installation of porphyry cubes;

2. Maintenance and new supplies of road verges, seats and waste bins.

Restoration of the architectural, decorative and sculptural elements of the square:

1. Restoration of cones and vases, travertine bases, peperino seats and cobble paving;

2. Supply of 16 terracotta vases.

Intervention to restore the lighting system:

1. Overhaul of the public lighting system;

2. Modification of existing lighting poles.

Bicycle path:

1. Installation of bicycle racks;

2. Installation of new horizontal traffic signs and road signs.

Depaving of 2,295 sqm:

1. Removal of asphalt from the two currently paved side flower beds (800 sqm+815 sqm) to be landscaped with grass, shrubs and new trees; 

2. Extension of the entrance to the park along Viale Mazzini, with the arrangement of a 680 sqm apex, reinforced by a double row of cypresses, in line with architect De Vico's original project.
