Extraordinary maintenance and resurfacing of Lungotevere and its bridges. Redevelopment of pavements on the left bank
Implementing party
Project description
The Lungotevere areas are vital roadways in Rome, built between 1876 and 1926 to mitigate flooding of the Tiber. These roads connect different parts of the city on both banks of the river. In order to ensure safety, functionality and comfort, road pavement improvements are planned on approximately 5 km of the right of the Lungotevere, from Ponte Risorgimento to Ponte Palatino. In addition to the extraordinary maintenance of the road paving, a widening of the pavements on some sections of the Tiber banks, approximately from Ponte Mazzini to Ponte Principe Amedeo Savoia Aosta, will be experimented, with the aim of creating quality public spaces and reducing the space for cars. These interventions will differ from the works on the opposite bank and will include road maintenance and interventions on protected and structural works. The activities will include the resurfacing of roads with bituminous conglomerate and the upgrading of sections with sampietrino.
