Improvement of the entrance to Città Universitaria at Viale Regina Elena and redevelopment of public space
Implementing party
Sapienza University of Rome
Project description
The project, which was made possible by the Jubilee funding, involves the improvement of sidewalks and pedestrian areas surrounding Sapienza, between Viale Ippocrate and the entrance to the various University buildings. It involves also the restyling of the fencing walls of the university buildings, both towards Città Universitaria and the former Regina Elena complex.
The intervention will allow greater and better fruition of the public and private space of Sapienza, raising the level of security and accessibility to university buildings. In the area in front of Viale Regina Elena, the new access system will feature new paving that blends with the surrounding areas, renewed urban furnishings such as benches and lighting systems, new trees, and green spaces to mitigate solar radiation. These improvements aim to make the space more pleasant and harmonious, increasing the presence of nature in the city.
