Improvement of road safety in Via di Centocelle, 236
Implementing party
Roma Capitale – V Municipality
Project description
Roma Capitale is committed to improving safety and road conditions, through an integrated planning that involves the pavement, sidewalks and signage system.
Thanks to the financial commitment provided for by the Investment Plan of the Municipality of Rome V for the 2022-2024 three-year period, an important intervention has been identified on Via Centocelle, 236 — home of the kindergarten and municipal nursery school "Il Sole". On this stretch of road, the frequent violation of speed limits by vehicles represents a serious risk to the safety of children and carers.
The intervention is aimed at improving safety and facilitating access to school through the following measures:
- luminous LED and reflective horizontal and vertical signage for better visibility;
- speed detectors to monitor and discourage speeding;
- cat’s eyes to signal the carriageway in poor visibility conditions;
- two-component drip paint to ensure greater resistance of the signs on the ground;
- ground signage corresponding to the vertical crossing signs in plastic material;
- implementation of pedestrian roads for disabled people (Loges);
- installation of pedestrians railings to protect pedestrians;
- verification and maintenance of the rainwater drainage system to prevent flooding.
