Project description
The remediation project of the former Malagrotta landfill is managed by the technical structure of the government commissioner for landfill remediation, General Giuseppe Vadalà.
A budget of 250 million euros has been allocated from 2022 to 2027, thus allowing the start of two separate tender procedures:
- Work on the construction of the new belt system (known as the Polder system) to contain and isolate the Malagrotta landfill. Estimated amounts: the total amount of the contract is € 76,978,880.21, of which € 75,542,533.94 for works subject to reduction and € 1,436,346.27 for charges relating to safety and obligations established by Art. 10 of the Legality Protocol, which are not subject to reduction.
- Works for the construction of the waterproof cover and the plant necessary for the closure of the existing landfill, in accordance with the provisions of letter a) (1) of Art. 12 of the integrated text of Legislative Decree No. 36/03, relating to the Malagrotta landfill (known as provisional capping, leachate pumping and biogas capture). Estimated amounts: the total amount of the contract is € 122,090,553.40, of which € 120,553,270.71 for works subject to reduction, € 1,446,772.72 for security-related charges not subject to reduction and €90,560.00 for charges provided for by Art. 10 of the Legality Protocol, which are not subject to reduction.
