Ostia Territorial Strategies
Implementing party
Project description
The intervention strategy for the Ostia coast, based on the critical issues and opportunities of the territory, aims at relaunching Ostia Lido as a strategic asset for the entire metropolitan city. The primary objective is the protection and enhancement of the sea of Rome, with the development of tourist-recreational initiatives of supra-municipal importance, harmonised with the strategies for mending the city's socio-economic fabric and strengthening territorial cohesion.
In the proposal presented by Roma Capitale to the Lazio Region, in line with the Metropolitan Strategic Plan, the 45 million of the 2021-27 ERDF RP will be allocated to the redevelopment of public areas, enhancement of biodiversity, urban green infrastructures, sustainable mobility, redevelopment of roads, promotion of tourism, cultural offerings, digitalisation, and energy efficiency.
The 15 million from the ESF+ will be used to support interventions against poverty, social inclusion, training, and employment support—in line with the development of the territorial strategy.
