Rebuilding the tramway network: electrical substations for trams, cables, and disconnecting switches
Implementing party

Project description
Rome's tram network extends over 86.5 km of track, of which 76 are in service and about 10.5 in railway workshops. To make up for the delay in maintenance, a plan has been launched to renew equipment and other parts of the infrastructure. This includes the replacement of power supply cables and extra maintenance on five electrical substations (San Paolo, Nomentana, Tor Sapienza, Piazza d'Armi, and Trastevere), which will be greatly enhanced to support the replacement of trams with more advanced models and the expansion of the tram network.
