Redevelopment of Roma San Pietro station and the square in front
Implementing party
Project description
The redevelopment of the Rome San Pietro station is a fundamental element in the interventions aimed at improving the railway stations in view of the 2025 Jubilee. These interventions are aimed at enhancing the accessibility, safety and decorum of stationary environments. The planned actions focus on several areas:
- Interventions on outdoor areas: These interventions will affect the Piazzale della Stazione, the exit area of the central underpass on Via Clivio di Monte del Gallo and the area on Via Gregorio VII. The objective is to improve the urban quality of these areas through works that optimise vehicular circulation, enhance accessibility and strengthen the station's role as an intermodal node.
- Interventions on the passenger building: These interventions will be aimed at ensuring the safety of the parking spaces and services inside the station building.
- Interventions on the accessibility of sidewalks and underpasses: These activities will include the construction of new shelters to cover the exits of the stairs, in order to improve accessibility and ensure the safety of users. The main objective is to define a renewed and uniform architectural language throughout the stationary area.
In summary, the intervention aims to transform Rome San Pietro station into a safe, accessible and welcoming reference point for travellers, thus contributing to the success and prestige of the Jubilee 2025 event.
