During the first months of 2021, a major disruption occurred in the sewer system located on Via Danilo Stiepovich, resulting in the formation of a sinkhole that led to the temporary closure of this important roadway, crucial for connecting the Ostia Ponente quadrant. The repair work conducted thereafter was not limited solely to repairing the sinkhole, but involved a larger area, extending for a distance of about 40 metres both upstream and downstream of the sinkhole. The total width of the area under intervention extended for about 80 metres, thus having a significant impact on the functionality of the entire sewer system in the neighborhood.

The realisation of the repair activities was made possible thanks to a fruitful collaboration between the Roma Capitale Administration and the company ACEA, with the valuable involvement of the Municipality X, which helped to unblock the complex administrative procedures necessary to start the work. This intervention is a significant step forward in ensuring mobility and road safety in the affected area and shows the effective synergy between the institutions involved.
