Socio-environmental mitigation works for the Serenissima Park
Implementing party
Project description
The project aims to turn an area of about 40 hectares into a public green space, focusing on enhancing a vast Roman necropolis containing about 2500 tombs and original sections of the flooring of the ancient Via Collatina. The environment will be enriched with sports facilities and outdoor recreational spaces, including a play area, a dog area, and cycling and pedestrian paths with an attached bike lane.
In addition, activities will include the creation of several urban gardens, careful landscaping, with a particular focus on the preservation and enhancement of existing plant species, and the planting of new trees.
A new cycle-pedestrian bridge and connecting paths inside the park will be built, as well as the necessary entrances and fencing. The intervention will also include botanical and vegetation upgrading works, as well as the regulation of bodies of water in the area.
