Termini - Vatican - Aurelio tramway line

Project description
The project involves the realisation of the new line Termini – Vatican – Aurelio (TVA) within the framework of the Urban Plan for Sustainable Mobility (PUMS). The line will pass through: Station Termini, Piazza della Repubblica, Via Nazionale, Via IV Novembre, Piazza Venezia, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II, Lungotevere in Sassia, Galleria PASA, Via di Porta Cavalleggeri, Via Gregorio VII, Circonvallazione (ring road) Aurelia, Piazza Giureconsulti, with a branch that goes from Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II to Via della Traspontina, Via di Porta Castello, Via Vitelleschi, Piazza Americo Capponi, Via Stefano Porcari, Piazza Risorgimento.
The total length of the line is organised in:
- Station Termini Piazza dei Cinquecento - Ring Road Cornelia: 7,363 metres;
- Branch between Ponte Vittorio Emanuele and Piazza Risorgimento: 956 metres.
Moreover, on the new infrastructure two services are planned:
- Line 1A: Termini Station – San Pietro Station – Via Gregorio VII – Cornelia MA;
- Line 1B: Termini Station - Borgo Pio - Piazza Risorgimento.
For the new infrastructure 21 wagons and 3 backup wagons are planned. A storage centre that can host 16 wagons has been designed in Largo Clemente Micara. Backup wagons will be stored in Officine Centrali (Central repair shop) in Via Prenestina. Here all vehicles will be maintained.
