Tourist bus parking in outlying areas of the city
Implementing party

Project description
The intervention consists of preparing and updating extended-stay parking areas for tourist buses in the outskirts of Rome, in accordance with the Capitoline Bus Regulation (DAC no. 55/18).
The modernization process is based on two main objectives:
- Relocating tourist bus parking to metro-rail exchange hubs located on the city’s periphery. In addition, long-term parking areas will be equipped in Osteria del Curato (Anagnina hub), Ponte Mammolo, and Laurentina.
The areas will be equipped with covered facilities containing services for drivers and passengers (toilets, refreshment points, ticket sales, etc.), as well as security systems such as video surveillance and lighting, in order to improve the passenger experience, facilitate planning, and manage operators in real time.
- Upgrading, both in terms of infrastructure and technology, existing parking areas that already feature automated bus access and fare payment systems.
These areas will be located at railway connection nodes, where safe pedestrian paths will be created as necessary. The intervention will require computer applications to be developed and updated along with the installation of connectivity infrastructures.
