Upgrading of road pavements within the Historic Center

On the occasion of the Jubilee, funding of 31 million euros has been earmarked for the maintenance of arterial roads in the heart of Rome, in compliance with the "Sampietrini Plan.” The intervention involves the upgrading of a total of about 10 kilometres of roads, divided into four processing modes, which include:
- Maintenance of sampietrini;
- Conversion from sampietrini to asphalt;
- Conversion from asphalt to sampietrini;
- Asphalt maintenance.
Maintenance operations will begin in the Borgo Pio area, then extend to the neighborhoods of Prati, Trastevere, Via Giulia, Portico d'Ottavia, Aventino, as well as the churchyards of churches frequented by pilgrims in the Baroque bend.
The project aims to preserve and improve the important road heritage in the heart of Rome, thus contributing to the protection and efficiency of communication routes in the eternal city.
