Volusia Park and Ghella Farmhouses
Implementing party
Project description
The recovery of the Ghella Farmhouses, located inside the Volusia Park, in the Rome XV Municipality, has been started.
The project involves the recovery of the farmhouses, currently in a poor state of conservation, and their use for the reception, information, break and leisure of visitors. These functions are of great importance for residents and make it possible to provide the extraordinary green lung of Volusia Park with functional aggregation and refreshment spaces. In addition, also in view of the 2025 Jubilee, they can be a factor of attraction for pilgrims who travel the religious path of the Via Francigena, which passes about 700 metres in a beeline from the Farmhouses, contributing to the increase in tourist presence in the area.
The renovated Ghella Farmhouses will be integrated into a context, that of the Volusia Park, which is now fully usable thanks to the redevelopment and inauguration of a second lot of park of over 43 hectares at the end of 2021.
