The eternal city changes forever

Once again, Rome is transformed and reborn. Thanks to an unprecedented investment season, we have the opportunity to implement an incredible regeneration project that will involve several areas of the city.
Our mission is to use these extraordinary resources to create a harmonious development model, to reconstruct a virtuous relationship between urban fabric and people, between city and environment, to mend tears and to enhance the capital's exceptional heritage.

WITHOUT CONSTRUCTION SITES THERE WOULD BE NO INCONVENIENCES TODAY, BUT NEITHER A BETTER FUTURE TOMORROW.

Roberto Gualtieri

Urban Cycle Paths Terminal Eur Laurentina - Viale Africa - Viale dell'Arte - Tre Fontane

The NRRP aims to promote the creation of cycle networks in 40 Italian cities, through interventions of maintenance and/or new construction, for tourist/recreational (tourist cycle paths) and urban (urban cycle paths) purposes.

Thus, Roma Capitale has set itself the goal of implementing a multi-year programme to promote the use of bicycles as structural means of transport for systematic travel.

This programme will improve accessibility and safety for cyclists in the city, by encouraging greater use of bicycles for daily travel.

Special security systems and intrusion alarms in schools

The project relates to the implementation of an intrusion alarm system at several high-risk school complexes identified by the Municipalities. Between November 2021 and October 2023, about 140 new systems were installed, in addition to the existing ones, for a total of 900 schools in 2,500 buildings. The systems are connected to an Alarm Room operating 24/7, allowing real-time management to trigger necessary interventions in response to alarm events or any detected anomalies.

Extraordinary maintenance of municipal road pavements – Municipality VIII

In view of the Jubilee 2025, Roma Capitale is organising various maintenance and improvement works on pavements to optimise the pedestrian traffic throughout the city, facilitating the movement of pilgrims and tourists. Each of Rome's 15 municipalities will be responsible for resurfacing local pavements, with a focus on connections between neighbourhoods. A budget of 15 million euro is planned for the work, which will be allocated through a framework agreement to simplify procedures. The interventions will include the redevelopment of existing pavements with furniture elements such as pedestrian barriers or flower boxes, the removal of architectural barriers with the addition of ramps, and the maintenance of sensitive routes.

    Tor Marancia Park

The Administration has set itself the objective of completing the enhancement of the Tor Marancia Park in Municipality VIII, a large green area safeguarded by the overbuilding of Antonio Cederna, but still not completely accessible to the whole city. In May 2022, the Council ratified a resolution for the opening of the Tor Marancia Park, defining the agreements with the Tormarancio Consortium to make the green area accessible to the public, regulate the loan of the areas not yet sold to Rome, and manage maintenance activities.

After more than 10 years of waiting, a new segment of the park was inaugurated in August 2022, called Functional Implementation Area (AFA) 3, covering 13 hectares mainly dedicated to younger people, with play areas and suitable paths. In July 2023, the building permit was issued to equip a further 6.5 hectares of greenery, including an equipped garden, a paved square of approximately 700 m2, bicycle-pedestrian paths, a fitness trail, an area for children, and an area for dogs. Work is underway and is expected to be completed in spring 2024. At the same time, work is underway to start the recovery of the 3 farmhouses, so-called AFA6, located right inside this portion of the park. Currently, the decision-making services conference is underway and is expected to end by early January 2024.

Extraordinary maintenance of the municipal headquarters in Via Benedetto Croce

In order to improve the reception at the headquarters of the VIII Municipality located in Via Benedetto Croce, 50, extraordinary maintenance works are planned. In particular, works will involve the roof, making part of it usable. Inside the building, the focus will be on the toilets block on the ground floor, with targeted interventions to improve accessibility and changes to the internal distribution both at the structural and system level. In addition, part of the internal offices will be reorganised to optimise spaces and adapt them to new administrative needs.

Maintenance of the outdoor area of the Giardino Incantato Nursery

The project is part of the "safe school access" operation and aims to secure school entrances.  To achieve this aim, the pedestrian areas in front of the schools will be expanded, allowing better circulation of users during the hours of entry and exit. Moreover, pedestrian barriers will be installed to protect the most dangerous spots, where crossing is forbidden. The works will ensure greater security for children, students and their parents.

New street gullies in Municipality X – Ostia Ponente - Lungomare Duca degli Abruzzi

The project involves the construction of new street gullies in the area of Ostia Ponente within the territory of Municipality X. The works for the construction of new street gullies for rainwater disposal started in October 2023 and cover a total of 244 meters.

The work aims to respond to the new atmospheric phenomena, characterized by significant rainfall over short periods of time. These extreme events have made it a priority to manage and channel rainwater effectively in road infrastructure.
