Study Room at the Museo di Roma - Palazzo Braschi

Implementing party

Roma Capitale

Project description

The project involved the creation of a new study room at the Museo di Roma in Palazzo Braschi.

The idea was born of the desire to make the exhibition space more accessible to citizens and in particular to the student community through a study room service complementary to that offered by the libraries of Roma Capitale, in the broader framework of the project of the Network of Study Rooms in Rome, promoted by the Department of Culture.

The Study Room of Palazzo Braschi is the first municipal space where you can study all weekend, during the opening hours of the Museo di Roma: from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Located on the ground floor of the Museum, the totally free access room has a capacity of 24 stations and is fully accessible to people with motor disabilities. Users can access the study room without having to make an appointment, while the consultation of the archival and bibliographical heritage of the museum's documentation centre continues to be available at the request of scholars and researchers.

The new Study Room of Palazzo Braschi responds to a vision of greater accessibility of the municipal museums to the citizens, in a framework of multi-purpose enhancement of cultural places and with a view to revitalising the historic centre with new cultural services open to everyone.
